My interest in the body and injuries started when I got a knee injury which stopped me doing the exercise I wanted, and I wanted to understand more about the body and what I could have done to prevent the injury and how the rehabilitation helped the injury. I enrolled on a level 3 sports massage therapy course, closely followed by the level 4 sports massage therapy course and decided I wanted to become a Sports Therapist so successfully enrolled on the MSc Sports Therapy course at the Uni of Gloucestershire.
I find the body fascinating and how one area of the body can cause limitations or overload in another area. I really enjoy getting to know each patient and helping them understand the reasons for their pain / injury and how together we can work to get you back to what you want to be doing. Whilst massage has been key in my career, I also really enjoy the rehabilitation aspect of treatment and how challenging our movement patterns can make huge benefits in reducing pain and building confidence in your body.
Outside of work I enjoy lifting weights at the gym along with HIIT workouts, and have recently taken up dancing again. I enjoy being out and about, completing obstacle course races and looking forward to completing my new triathlon. I enjoy travelling and getting to explore new places and I like most sports – rugby, F1, triathlon and athletics are among my favourites.I first met Louise after she was recommended by a fellow therapist. I presented a few issues that I could not shift myself, or with any other type of therapy. After 12 weeks of suffering I had a very detailed analysis of my problem, a treatment plan with exceptional knowledge of the human body, and an appreciation of what it’s like to have ongoing pain. After just 4 treatments (and home work!) I have seen a huge improvement. The value in these appointments is priceless, thank you Louise.
